The βPersistence of Happinessβ session was conducted as an interactive and reflective programme focusing on the role of mindset, relationships, expectations, boundaries, and personal choices in sustaining happiness.
Participants were divided into three groups and encouraged to reflect on family happiness, workplace happiness, and childhood/school happiness, helping them reconnect with the simple experiences and relationships that have contributed to their well-being across different stages of life. The discussion also explored βWhat Stops Our Happiness?β, highlighting over-expectation, people-pleasing, comparison, unresolved conflicts, and dependence on others for emotional satisfaction.
A key focus of the session was understanding that caring for others should not always mean sacrificing one's own happiness and emotional well-being. Participants explored healthy ways of setting boundaries, saying βNoβ respectfully, managing expectations, and handling interpersonal conflicts without reacting impulsively or expecting immediate solutions.
The session concluded with the message that happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to consciously choose healthier responses, protect our emotional well-being, and continue finding meaning and joy despite life's challenges.
