The orientation programme “Quality-Centric Pedagogical Strategies for Student Engagement” was conducted with the objective of strengthening the teaching effectiveness of CSE faculty and promoting quality-centric classroom practices. The programme resulted in the following outcomes:
Various student-centric teaching pedagogies were discussed, with emphasis on active participation, interaction, collaborative learning, experiential learning, and continuous assessment.
Faculty were introduced to practical approaches for making classroom sessions more interactive, engaging, and outcome-oriented.
AI-powered educational tools were demonstrated to faculty, highlighting their potential for lesson planning, content creation, classroom interaction, assessment, and personalized learning.
The demonstrations helped faculty understand how AI tools can be meaningfully integrated into existing teaching practices rather than being used merely as supplementary technologies.
The programme encouraged faculty to reflect on their existing teaching practices and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in classroom delivery and student learning outcomes.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an orientation programme titled “Quality-Centric Pedagogical Strategies for Student Engagement” for the CSE faculty. The programme was conducted with the primary objective of supporting faculty members in handling classes more effectively and adopting innovative, student-centric approaches to teaching and learning.
The session focused on various pedagogical strategies for effective classroom management and student engagement. The importance of moving beyond conventional lecture-based teaching towards interactive and learner-centred methodologies was discussed. Faculty members were exposed to practical strategies that could be incorporated into their regular classroom sessions to improve participation, understanding, and learning effectiveness.
A significant component of the programme was the demonstration of AI tools for teaching and academic activities. The tools were demonstrated through practical examples, enabling faculty members to understand their possible applications in lesson preparation, content development, classroom activities, assessment, and other teaching-learning processes.
The faculty members actively engaged with the session, participated in the discussions, and showed considerable interest in the demonstrated approaches and AI tools. The interactive nature of the programme enabled participants to relate the concepts to their own classroom experiences and identify ways to incorporate the strategies into their teaching practices.
Overall, the programme served as a useful faculty orientation and capacity-building initiative, promoting quality-centric, technology-enabled, and student-engaging pedagogical practices within the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
