Report of the Event:

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with the KPR International Centre (KIC), organized a Faculty Orientation on "Scholarly Writing for High-Impact Publications" on 30 July 2026 at the EEE Board Room. The session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Saad Mekhilef, Distinguished Professor, Swinburne University, Australia, who shared his extensive experience in research and scholarly publishing.

The orientation focused on enhancing the research writing capabilities of faculty members by providing practical guidance on preparing high-quality manuscripts for publication in reputed international journals. Prof. Dr. Saad Mekhilef discussed the essential components of a well-structured research paper, including developing a compelling research narrative, presenting results effectively, and writing impactful abstracts, introductions, and conclusions. He also highlighted best practices in selecting appropriate journals, addressing reviewer comments, maintaining publication ethics, and avoiding common reasons for manuscript rejection.

The session further emphasized strategies to improve the visibility and citation impact of research publications, foster international research collaborations, and strengthen the overall quality of scholarly output.
