The SAEINDIA–KPRIET Collegiate Club was formally inaugurated on 24 July 2026 at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, with the objective of encouraging students to actively participate in professional engineering activities and enhance their technical competencies through SAEINDIA initiatives.
The inaugural function commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. N. Udhayakumar, Faculty Advisor, SAEINDIA–KPRIET Collegiate Club. In his address, he welcomed the distinguished guests, faculty members, and students, and emphasized the importance of professional societies in shaping students into competent engineers through technical learning, innovation, teamwork, and leadership opportunities.
The gathering was then addressed by Dr. K. Ravikumar, who delivered the Presidential Address. He highlighted the significance of industry-oriented learning, encouraged students to actively engage in technical competitions and research activities, and appreciated the establishment of the SAEINDIA Collegiate Club as a platform for developing future automotive and mobility professionals.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Siva, Chairperson, SAEINDIA Southern Section, Coimbatore Division, delivered an insightful keynote address on the vision and mission of SAEINDIA. He elaborated on the numerous benefits of SAEINDIA student membership, including access to technical resources, networking opportunities with industry experts, participation in national-level competitions, workshops, conferences, and student conventions. He also motivated students to actively participate in flagship SAEINDIA events such as BAJA SAEINDIA, Supra SAEINDIA, Aero Design Challenge, and other technical activities that foster innovation, practical learning, and professional growth.
Following the guest lecture, the Office Bearers of the SAEINDIA–KPRIET Collegiate Club were formally introduced to the audience. The newly elected student team expressed their commitment to organizing technical events, workshops, industrial interactions, and professional development activities throughout the academic year.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Potheshwaran, Secretary, Student Chair, SAEINDIA–KPRIET Collegiate Club, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, the management, faculty members, student coordinators, and all participants for making the inauguration a grand success.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 81 students and 8 faculty members, reflecting the strong interest and commitment of the KPRIET community towards professional engineering development. The inauguration marked the beginning of a promising journey for the SAEINDIA–KPRIET Collegiate Club, paving the way for innovation, technical excellence, leadership, and industry engagement among aspiring engineers.
