The online guest lecture on “Applications of Turing Machine” under the course U21CS502 – Theory of Computation enabled students to relate the abstract model of Turing Machine to real‑world computational problems. After the session, students were able to identify how Turing Machines can be used as language recognizers, deciders, and problem‑solving models; analyze the role of Universal Turing Machines and their connection to general‑purpose computers; and comprehend the limitations of computation such as undecidable problems and the halting problem. The session strengthened the conceptual foundations required to study computability and complexity, thereby supporting the attainment of Course Outcomes related to automata theory, computability, and problem‑analysis skills.
