The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIIED), organized an expert session titled “AI and Innovation Sprints: Rapid Prototyping for Digital Transformations” for undergraduate students. The session aimed to introduce AI-driven innovation practices, rapid prototyping approaches, and their role in enabling digital transformation across industries.
The resource person highlighted how artificial intelligence is reshaping digital products and services and explained how structured innovation sprints can compress the idea-to-prototype cycle using modern tools and agile practices
The program began with a formal welcome address and introduction of the resource person, followed by an overview of the objectives of the workshop by Dr.Nisha Soms. The experts then delivered an interactive talk on innovation sprints, AI use cases, and rapid prototyping workflows, connecting concepts to real-world digital transformation scenarios in domains such as healthcare, education, finance, and smart cities.
Students were exposed to key stages of an innovation sprint: problem framing, ideation, selecting feasible AI-driven solutions, and quickly building low‑fidelity or tool-based prototypes for validation. The talk included practical examples and industry case studies, which helped learners understand how AI supports problem identification, solution design, experimentation, and iterative improvement.
The program successfully met its objectives by:
Enhancing awareness of AI as an enabler of innovation and digital transformation, particularly through rapid experimentation and data‑driven decision-making.
Familiarizing students with the concept of innovation sprints, emphasizing speed, iterative development, and feedback loops as key to modern product development.
Strengthening understanding of rapid prototyping techniques (from conceptual prototypes to simple AI tool demonstrations) aligned with agile and DevOps-style workflows.
