SEMINAR ON ' SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM DESIGN', KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

A seminar on ‘Solar Energy System Design’ is organized on 27.10.2022 at 9.30 a.m. in Thanam hall, KPRIET. Mr.Gokul, II Mech – A Sec welcomed the gathering. Ms.C.Madhumithra, III year Mech – B Section has introduced the Guest Speaker of the programme, Dr. Vimal Kumar Eswarlal, CEO, Mangla Smart Energy Solutions (P) Ltd, Tirupur to the participants who have gathered in the hall. After the brief introduction of the guest speaker, he has immediately taken over the session. He has stared his session with a brief note on the need of renewable energy and solar energy in present scenario to mitigate the greenhouse emission and to achieve the energy independency. He has explained the world energy scenario with a pie chart showing contribution of different fuels used for fulfilling the demand of energy needs. And he extended the split up of different contributors of energy in National level. The total installed capacity of different kind of power plants and the contribution of solar based power plants in fulfilling the demand of Indian energy needs has been explained with the real-time data. Further, he has given the introduction on different kind of solar thermal systems in detail. The role of solar water heaters for different applications has been elucidated. Also, he has explained the method of designing a solar thermal system for industrial process heating with an industrial case study. He clarified the doubts of the students during Q&A session. At last, Mr.G.Vijay, III Mech – B Sec proposed the vote of thanks and the programme was concluded with National Anthem.
