The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, organized an Invited Talk on “Artificial Intelligence: Principles and Techniques” on 26th August 2025 in online mode through Google Meet.
The session was delivered by Dr. K. Sathya, Assistant Professor, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Department of Database Systems, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore.
Dr. Sathya provided an insightful overview of the fundamental principles, core techniques, and real-world applications of Artificial Intelligence. She explained key concepts such as search strategies, knowledge representation, reasoning, machine learning models, and natural language processing, making the session highly informative for both beginners and advanced learners.
In addition, the session included a hands-on introduction to the n8n tool, an open-source workflow automation platform. Participants gained exposure to automating repetitive tasks, integrating applications, and designing workflows without extensive coding, which enhanced their practical knowledge of AI-based automation techniques.
The talk also emphasized the practical relevance of AI across industries and highlighted emerging research opportunities for students. Participants were able to interact with the speaker through an engaging Q&A session, where queries related to AI applications, challenges, and future scope were discussed.
