Day-1 (29/09/2022)
The registration commenced at 9.00 am and went on till 9:30 am at Civil Department, KPRIET. The Inaugural function started at 9:30 am and Dr.S Shanmugam, Chairman, IE(I) presented the welcome address and briefed upon the activities of IE(I) in promoting Science and Technology. Dr. M.Akila, Principal, KPRIET gave the felicitation address to the gathering highlighting the importance of this seminar. Dr.G.Anusha, Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, KPRIET presented an overview of the Two day All India Seminar. Mr. Prasanth Omanakuttan, Managing partner, green era recyclers, Coimbatore delivered the chief guest address elaborating on the significance of waste recycling and management. The proceeding was released in the form of a CD by the dignitaries. Dr.S.Kanmani, Associate professor, KPRIET proposed the vote of thanks.
The first Technical session started at 10:00 am and was on “Ewaste Entrepreneurship and Sustainability” by Mr.Prasanth Omanakuttan. The speaker shared his experiences in developing a new start-up company and the challenges faced in developing waste management.
The second Technical session commenced at 11:15 pm delivered by Dr.G.Anusha, Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, KPRIET shared her expertise on ‘Hazardous Waste Management'.
The Third Technical session commenced at 02:00 pm delivered by Dr M Kaarthik, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Coimbatore Institute of Tech., Coimbatore shared his views on ‘Waste to wealth’. He presented about the recent technologies in waste recycling and recover.
This was followed by paper presentation – Technical Session IV where 4 papers were presented.
Day-2 (30/09/2022)
The technical session V on “Urban Waste Management” commenced at 09.30 AM delivered by Dr. M Ibrahim Bathusha, Professor(CAS), Civil PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. The speaker elaborated on the development of urban waste Management and its development.
This was followed by paper presentation – Technical Session VI where 4 papers were presented.
The technical session VII on “Solid Waste Management” commenced at 02.00 PM delivered by Dr. S Subramanian, Professor & Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. The speaker elaborated on the development of waste Management and its development.
This was followed by paper presentation – Technical Session VIII where 2 papers were presented.
The valedictory session began by 03:15 pm and the certificates were presented to the participants by Dr.G.Anusha. Feedback from the participants was obtained. The workshop came to an end by 04.00pm.
