Summary
The Institution of Engineers (India), Tamilnadu state centre along with Coimbatore Local Centre organised a technical webinar on the occasion of the “Cetenery celebration : 100 Hours Techno Carnival – TNSC techno carnival” in the theme “Sustainable development of the nation – A role of Engineers”  with organising partner, Dept. of Civil Engg., KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET), Coimbatore on 22nd July 2022. The guest speaker Dr.S R Ramanan, former director, Area cyclone warning system, regional meteorological centre, Chennai gave a lecture on the topic “climatic changes in Iceland” and Dr G Shankar, Founder and chairman, habitat technology group, thiruvananthapuram, kerala gave a lecture on the topic “towards a green habitat recovery”.
 
Dr S Shanmugam, Chairman, IE(I), Coimbatore Local Centre welcomed the guest honor,                 guest speaker and the participants and gave presidential address. Lt. Dr A K Priya, Professor and Mrs.S.Bharani, Assistant professor, Dept. of Civil Engg., KPRIET introduced the guest speaker.
 
Dr.S R Ramanan explained about the problems occurred in Iceland due to climatic changes and its impact on Iceland and Icelandic waters, as on most other countries and regions. He gave examples about the effects occurred in few region.
 
Dr G Shankar, guest speaker explained about inclusive, holistic and comprehensive systematic changes which make us resilient and responsive to further environmental, economic or health crises of even greater magnitude than Covid-19. He explained about the problem occurred in kerala flood during 2018.
 
Nearly 100 participants attended the programme.
 
Finally Dr J Krishnamoorthi, Honorary Secretary, IE(I), Coimbatore Local Centre gave vote of thanks.
