   Event Report:

The Department of Chemical Engineering organized a guest lecture titled "AI - Transforming Industries and Shaping the Future" for the II B.Tech. Chemical Engineering students on 10th September 2024. The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Nisha Soms, Associate Professor from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), KPRIET. The session began with a welcome address by Ms. L. Dharani, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering. Mr. R. Mugunthan, from III B.Tech. Chemical Engineering, introduced the chief guest, Dr. Nisha Soms, highlighting her expertise and contributions to the field of AI. Dr. Nisha's lecture covered the fundamentals of AI, its applications in various industries and how AI is transforming the chemical engineering landscape by optimizing processes, improving safety, and reducing costs. She emphasized the potential AI holds for innovation and automation in industries. The lecture concluded with an interactive session, where students asked insightful questions about AI's future in their field and its relevance in ongoing research and industry trends. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. A.S. Shalini of III B.Tech. Chemical Engineering, expressing gratitude to the speaker.
