The department of ECE in association with KPR Medical Centre organized a webinar on Women’s health & What should she knows?. The webinar was conducted on 23.04.2022. Dr. D. Uthra Priyadharshini, M.B.B.S., M.S.(Obs & Gyn), Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine, Obstetrician Gynaecologist & Fertility Consultant, Rao Hospital, Coimbatore was invited to give awareness about women’s Menstrual Awareness and Hygiene, Women Wellbeing and Diet, Cancer. She gave insights about, the menstruation and reproductive cycle. However, in most parts of the world, it remains a taboo and is rarely talked about. Girls and women need to maintain good menstrual hygiene to uphold their health and dignity. She explained the same in very simplistic terms. During the program, she told about the science behind menstruation and the myths surrounding it. The girls were also taught basic hygiene that should be maintained during periods. It helped in sensitizing them on various complications arising out of lack of menstrual hygiene. She also explained in detail about various types of cancer related to women in addition to this gave awareness about the cervical cancer vaccination. In the end, a question-answer session was also conducted.
