Department of Civil Engineering organized 2 days One Credit Course for the students of Second Year Civil Engineering on the topic ' Plan Approval and Tender Procedure'. This course is partnered with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Coimbatore Centre as the resource person was Er. T. Thilak Ranjith, Proprietor, TR Associates, Coimbatore and MC Member of ACCE(I), Coimbatore Centre.
Day 1 - The course began with the pre - quiz assessment for the students through online mode using the google forms platform. Resource person Er. Thilak Ranjith started the session with deliberating the list of documents required for plan approval process. He also insisted about the practice prevailing in recent days in government bodies for approval by demonstrating the same through e-DCR online application. He requested the students to practice the habit of getting approval for land and building before construction explaining its importance. He projected the sample approval drawings for better understanding about the concepts among the students.
Day 2- Session began with the refresher quiz session about the contents delivered on Day 1. Later then, the resource person gave several insights to the students about the procedure for tender application for any government or non government projects. He also gave more clarity about tender, contract and agreement. Sample tender documents were given to students to make them understand the procedure of tender preparation for any project. He also clarified the questions raised by the students and interacted with them.
