The Department of Civil Engineering in association with the ICI Student Chapter conducted a one-day workshop on civil engineering on Friday, October 6, 2023. The workshop was designed to help students learn about the latest trends and developments in the civil engineering industry, and to develop the skills they need to be successful in their careers.
The workshop covered a variety of topics, including the civil engineering profession, civil engineering software, design principles, construction practices, professional development, and leadership development. The workshop also featured a pitchit up competition for ICI members and 1st year chemical engineering students, and physical activity and fun games for students in the afternoon.
Over 50 students attended the workshop and gained valuable information about the civil engineering industry and developed the skills they need to be successful in their careers. The workshop also helped to promote the ICI Student Chapter and to raise awareness of the civil engineering profession.
Additionally, the ICI Student Chapter was officially inaugurated during the workshop and the PST members were introduced to ICI members. The PST members shared details of the programs and events that will be organized during the academic year.
The inauguration of the ICI Student Chapter and the introduction of the PST members to ICI members is a significant event, as it marks the beginning of a new student members for the student chapter. The PST members are responsible for organizing and conducting programs and events for the benefit of ICI members. The programs and events that will be organized during the academic year will provide ICI members with opportunities to learn and grow, and to network with other civil engineering students and professionals.
