In commemoration of National Sports Day, the Department of Physical Education at KPR Sports Complex organized a series of exciting sporting events and activities on August 26, 2023. This celebration aimed to promote the spirit of sportsmanship, physical fitness, and teamwork among students and staff members.

For the faculties and students of KPRIET, the department of physical education has organised a National Sports Day celebration. On August 26, 2023, the Walk Race was held on the grounds of our college. The walk was flagged off by our principal, Dr. M. Ramasamy after the speech regarding the importance of health and how fitness plays a major role in an individual life. All KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology staff were informed of the importance of living a fit and healthy lifestyle. The attendees were then given an explanation of the route. 75 staff members and students participated in the walk race. Around 10:00 am, the Phoenix Circle to the KPR Sports Complex leg of the Campaign was launched. From 4 houses (Team Nehru, Team Mahatma Gandhi, Team Sardar Vallabai Patel, Team V.O.C) around 360 student participants taken part in the Volleyball (Women), Lahori (Women), Basketball (Men) and Football (Men). Around 40 staffs were participated in the Badminton (Men & Women), Tug of War (Men) and Cricket (Men) tournament. All winners and runners were awarded by medals and mementos.
National Sports Day holds great importance as it brings together the KPR community to celebrate the values of sportsmanship, physical well-being, and collaboration. Through these diverse events, participants had the opportunity to engage in friendly competition, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity among the participants.
The National Sports Day celebration at KPR Sports Complex 2023 was a resounding success, thanks to the active participation and enthusiasm of both students and staff members. The event not only encouraged physical activity but also emphasized the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship in our community.
