The Junior Assistants Training Program was conducted at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology on May 6, 2023. The purpose of the program was to build skills and capacity for effective communication, social-emotional quotient, 21st-century skills, business email writing, and basic MS Office operations among junior assistants and other NSCs.
The program used an experiential framework that provided a mix of lectures, interactive activities, and group discussions. The program ran from 8:45 am to 4:30 pm and covered the following topics:
- Session 1: Aspirations and Goal Setting
- Session 2: Effective Communication and Social-Emotional Quotient
- Session 3: 21st-Century Skills
- Session 4: Chat GPT and email writing
- Session 5: Creating posters using Canva
Each session was carefully planned to ensure maximum participation and engagement from the participants. The sessions were led by experienced trainers who were experts in their respective fields.
The Junior Assistants Training Program successfully achieved its objectives. The participants showed a marked improvement in the following areas:
- Goal setting: Participants were able to reflect on their personal and professional goals and set realistic targets for themselves.
- Communication skills: Participants were able to communicate more effectively and empathetically, which improved their relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
- 21st-century skills: Participants developed skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, which are essential for success in today's fast-paced work environment.
- Business email writing: Participants learned how to write professional emails that are clear, concise, and effective.
- Canva & Chat GPT: Participants gained basic proficiency in Canva, which improved their productivity and efficiency in the workplace.
The Junior Assistants Training Program was a resounding success. The program provided the participants with valuable skills and knowledge that will help them succeed in their professional lives.
