Summary
 Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with Mental health club organized an expert talk on” Mental health and wellbeing”, 20th April 2023.  Dr.J.Indra, Professor & Head delivered the welcome address and introduced the resource person. Dr. Babu Rangarajan and Ms. Roja Ramani handled the session. The key takeaways are: · Important of mental health and wellbeing at every stage of life be it childhood, teenage, or adulthood. · Discussion on the common mental health challenges, and strategies for managing stress and anxiety · important step towards promoting positive mental health practices and reducing the stigma associated with mental health challenges. · How the mental health is actually differed form the mental illness related to the thoughts and behaviour. How to create the positive mind set to achieve the goals at critical situation · Keep a Positive Attitude to Improve Your Work Life · Focussed on how to do mindfulness meditation to remove the negative thoughts. · Important to stay focused and committed to your plan, even when faced with challenges. · Discussed on how to improve the self confidence · Focus on your strengths and acknowledge your accomplishments. Make a list of your strengths and accomplishments and refer to them when you need a boost of confidence. · Surround yourself with positive and supportive people who uplift you and believe in your abilities.   Finally, the session ended up with feedback about the event from the participants. The feedback points are summarized as 1.The expert used real-life examples and case studies to illustrate key concepts and provided practical tips and strategies for improving mental health and well-being. 2.covered a wide range of topics, including stress management, anxiety, depression, and self-care techniques, among others. The entire session was good and impressive.
