FIESTAA 2026 | 20 February 2026

The Sustainable Energy – Efficient Food Innovation Challenge was successfully conducted on 20th February 2026 as part of FIESTAA 2026, with the objective of encouraging students to develop innovative and sustainable solutions addressing energy efficiency in food processing and food systems.

A total of eight problem statements related to sustainable energy utilization, resource optimization, and eco-friendly food innovations were provided to the participants. Students were required to analyze real-world challenges and propose feasible, innovative, and sustainable solutions.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with seven teams comprising approximately 24 students from various disciplines. Each team presented creative and technically sound ideas focusing on areas such as energy-efficient processing methods, waste minimization, renewable energy integration, sustainable packaging concepts, and cost-effective food production strategies.

The presentations demonstrated strong analytical thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practical problem-solving skills among the participants. The judging panel evaluated the teams based on innovation, feasibility, sustainability impact, technical clarity, and presentation effectiveness.

The competition resulted in several promising concepts that highlighted students’ awareness of sustainable development goals and their ability to apply engineering and scientific knowledge to real-world food industry challenges.

To recognize excellence, cash prizes were awarded:

  • First Prize: ₹2000

  • Second Prize: ₹1500
