The Civic Policy Showdown was conducted on 23rd August 2025 by the Youth Parliament Sangamam. The event was designed to provide young leaders with an opportunity to step into the shoes of policymakers and propose innovative solutions to real-world social problems. Participants presented policy proposals that either introduced new ideas or enhanced existing regulations, showcasing their knowledge, analytical skills, and creativity in policy formulation.
The format of the event was structured as follows:
1. Opening Session: The event began with a warm welcome to all participants and the judge, followed by an introduction to the competition rules and regulations.
2. Policy Presentation: Each participant delivered a 5-minute presentation (3–5 slides) covering the problem, solution and impact of their proposed policy.
3. Q&A Session: The judge posed insightful questions to participants, testing the depth, feasibility and originality of their ideas.
4. Closing Session: The event concluded with the announcement of winners and final remarks from the judge and coordinators.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students showcasing creativity, critical thinking and persuasive communication.
The Civic Policy Showdown was successfully conducted, providing a valuable platform for students to present innovative policy ideas on real-world challenges. The participants showed great creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills, reflecting the spirit of youth working towards positive change.
