Department of Civil Engineering and BIM centre of Excellence inviited Mr.Kumaran raja Managing Director and CMO of Dsol Global Academy and consulting ,Chennai for the guest lecture for Engineers day celebration in the topic " The realm of AR In training ".This guest lecture is exclusively for Civil Engineering Faculty members to explore the new technology in AR and VR in construction industry with animated videos. He explained construction industry has been lagging in adopting technology applications but has begun to integrate them in the past few years. He informed Augmented reality (AR) is an innovative technology that allowed for the visualization of virtual objects in the real world and it can be used for various activities and tasks in construction .He asked to start working with industry personnel to determine if AR should be implemented into practice based on their experiences in the field,.He highlighed the many beneficial uses to AR, such as quality control/assurance, clash detection, visualization of the building, and double-checking work being performed. He sstated that technology is a revolutionary tool that has simplified and increased efficiency in construction and technological advances will only hinder the growth of the company. He highlighted Competition is constantly happening in the industry, so being ahead of competitors by adopting innovative technology is an advantage that must not be overlooked and ask to inform to the students to do projects.All faculties weared the wearables glass and learnt how 3D modelling looks and contain the information about the future building and an immersive walk around the biuilding.
