The Department of Mechanical Engineering at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology organized the inauguration of the Industry Integrated Skill Development Course on Robotic Welding and Additive Manufacturing on 12th February 2025 at Daffodil, Imperial Hall. The event was convened by Dr. S. Ramesh Babu and coordinated by Dr. B. Arulmurugan and Dr. S. Dharanikumar. The Chief Guest, Mr. Anand, Operations Head and Junior Managing Director of ABR Engineering, highlighted the importance of automation and additive manufacturing in modern industries. The event emphasized the collaboration between academia and industry partners such as Kavin Inc. and ABB Value Provider. It aimed to bridge the skill gap through hands-on training in robotic welding and WAAM technologies. Students gained insights into industrial applications, research prospects, and career opportunities in smart manufacturing. The program inspired participants to innovate and adapt to Industry 4.0 advancements. Overall, the event was successful in fostering industry-academia interaction and promoting skill-based learning.
