Summary

On Day 1, Mr. J. Udayanand delivered an insightful session on Drawing Study and Interpretation. Students gained valuable knowledge on :
1. Basics of drawings
2. Structural & architectural drawings
3. Concrete reinforcement detailing
4. Educational, residential, industrial & commercial buildings
The session was followed by a hands-on activity where students mapped drawings based on the given dimensions, reinforcing their learning through practical application.

Day 2: Pre-Employment Residential Training Program | Civil Engineering, KPRIET

We had the honor of attending motivating and knowledge-packed sessions led by industry experts — Er. D. Sabtharishi, Er. Ragavendram, Er. Dharamalingam, and Er. Arunkumar — who shared their invaluable insights into the construction aspect, with a special focus on core and shell structures and the fundamentals of structural engineering.

The sessions deepened our understanding of basic design principles and key concepts like:
1. Bending Moment Diagram
2. Shear Force Diagram
3. Basic Designs

We also explored the significance and real-world application of PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings) and composite structures, broadening our perspective on modern construction techniques.

Day 3: Pre-Employment Residential Training Program

On the third day of the Cebaca Pre-Employment Residential Training Program, industry experts Er. A. Shamsudeen, Ar. Swaroop Raj, Er. Jagan Raj, and Mr. Prakash Krishnan delivered engaging and informative sessions.

The sessions covered career opportunities for aspiring civil engineers, insights on interior design and finishes, including wall treatments, flooring, ceilings, wood panelling, MDF, paint, wallpapers, and various flooring types.

Additionally, there was an introduction to HVAC fundamentals, emphasizing the importance of building design, different AC types, inverter and non-inverter models, ducted systems, VRF systems, and chillers. The discussion on finishing techniques included joineries, painting, and flooring methods.

The plumbing session focused on water management, indoor water usage, and essential plumbing terminologies.

Day 4: Pre-Employment Residential Training Program

On Fourth day, experts Er. Srinivasan, Er. MK Anandh, Mr. S. Yuvaraj and Er. Anirudh Padmanaban delivered insightful sessions of emerging technologies.

Er. Anandh provided participants with an in-depth understanding of core project management principles, especially in the context of the construction industry. Key areas covered included project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and quality assurance. The importance of accurate quantity surveying and adherence to quality standards was emphasized as vital to successful project execution.

Mr. Yuvaraj, introduced students to the groundbreaking field of 3D printing in construction, emphasizing its role in shaping the future of building practices. The speaker explained the processes behind large-scale 3D concrete printing, types of materials used, and current global applications.

Er. Anirudh explored the integration of automation technologies and smart systems in modern buildings. Participants were introduced to smart home components like sensors, voice-enabled devices, and remote-control systems.

Day 5: Pre-Employment Residential Training Program

Er. Geodamin focused on Post-Tensioned (PT) Structures, a crucial technology in modern construction for enhancing the load-carrying capacity and durability of concrete. Students were introduced to the core principles behind post-tensioning and its practical benefits in high-rise buildings, bridges, and large-span structures.

Mrs. Kavitha introduced Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a revolutionary tool for digital construction planning and management. The speaker explained how BIM enables 3D model-based workflows, enhancing collaboration, accuracy, and efficiency in project execution.

Er. Aswin Ram focused on entrepreneurship opportunities in the construction and infrastructure sector. Students were encouraged to think beyond traditional employment and explore pathways to become innovators, contractors, or construction tech startup founders.
