Day 1: Establishing the Fundamentals

The first day commenced with a session on the Introduction to Docker and containerization technology. Participants gained a thorough understanding of Docker's history, various applications, and the architecture and components involved. Detailed diagrams showcasing Docker's structure, including images, containers, and the Docker daemon, were covered. This practical knowledge equipped attendees with a solid foundation for comprehending how Docker operates and its advantages in different scenarios.

The afternoon session focused on Docker commands and operations. The instructors guided the installation of Docker on Linux systems and demonstrated basic Docker commands. To solidify understanding, a captivating demonstration was presented showcasing the creation, management, and removal of Docker containers. This demo provided valuable technical insights into the structure of Docker commands and their application in real-world scenarios.

Day 2: Integration and Application Development

The second day ventured into advanced Docker concepts and practical applications. The morning session introduced Docker networking and storage. Participants explored Docker networking concepts, including setting up Docker networks and connecting containers. Additionally, the session covered Docker volumes and persistent storage, essential for managing data within containers.

The afternoon session delved into Docker Compose and multi-container applications. Participants learned to define and run multi-container Docker applications using Docker Compose. Practical exercises and hands-on practice enabled students to create Docker Compose files and implement multi-container setups. The session concluded with an introduction to advanced Docker concepts, including Docker Swarm and Kubernetes, providing a roadmap for scaling Docker applications.

Feedback and Conclusion

The course concluded with a feedback session where students shared their experiences and learning outcomes. The resource person, Mr. Pradeep Palanisamy, expressed satisfaction with the students' enthusiasm and engagement throughout the course. The convenor, Dr. A. Bazila Banu, and the coordinator, Dr. T.
