One credit course on U21OEC03 - Industrial IoT has organized by the Department of ECE during 04.10.23 and 05.10.23. Dr.M.Kalamani, Prof./ECE and Dr.R.Jaikumar, AsP/ECE coordinated this event. Resource person Mr.S.Ganesh Prabhu, Engineer – Embedded Division, Caliber Interconnects Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore handled the session with hands on training in Node MCU and Raspberry Pi for third year ECE students.
Two day sessions covers the following areas:
Introduction to Industrial IoT
Embedded C and Linux
Node MCU and Raspberry Pi
MQTT Protocol
Sensor Data Acquisition and communication between nodes
The following Experiments are developed with hands on session:
1. Set up an MQTT broker on the Raspberry Pi, publish sensor data, and subscribe to it from Node MCU/Raspberry Pi.
2. Creating simple dashboard using HTML for controlling Industrial IoT system.
3. Communicate sensor data from Node MCU to Raspberry Pi through Wi-Fi.
Communicate sensor data from Node MCU to Node MCU through Bluetooth.
Totally 37 ECE has students registered and attended this session. Resource person handled the session as per schedule. In addition, he deliberated more information related to skills required for fresher and also highlighted the industry needs.
Assessment is given as group projects and students developed the simple automation projects using Raspberry Pi.
