SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2023, KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

The Summer Internship Program was conducted by the Department of Civil Engineering and the BIM Centre of Excellence to provide students and young professionals with hands-on experience in civil engineering . The program aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation while fostering innovation and creativity in the field of civil engineering.The internship program spanned over a period of starting from 16.06.23 to 23.06.23.T he key objectives of the Summer Internship Program were as follows: a. Introduce participants to real-world civil engineering projects and BIM applications. b. Enhance participants' technical skills in various areas of civil engineering. c. Encourage teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities among the interns. d. Provide exposure to the latest technologies and tools used in the industry. e. Cultivate a problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to challenges.Curriculum and Activities: The internship program offered a well-structured curriculum, comprising a blend of theoretical sessions, hands-on workshops, and site visits to ongoing construction projects. The topics covered during the program included, but were not limited to:

• Fundamentals of Civil Engineering

• Introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM)

• Structural Analysis and Design

• Construction Management and Planning

• Sustainable Infrastructure Design

• Use of BIM Software and Tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.)

• Site Safety and Quality Control MeasuresTo enrich the learning experience, the program featured guest lectures by eminent professionals and experts from the civil engineering industry.
