The Learning Experience Design (LXD) Level 1 Workshop was a transformative experience for the 45 faculty members from the Science and Humanities Department who attended on April 10th and 11th, 2023. Through advanced concepts such as Kolb's Experiential Cycle, Bloom's Taxonomy, Flipped Classroom, and Self-Organized Learning Environment, attendees were empowered to create immersive and impactful learning experiences.
The workshop was thoughtfully designed in an experiential and active learning model, allowing participants to not only learn about LXD but also to experience it firsthand. This innovative approach to learning was praised by all attendees, who found the entire workshop engaging, insightful, and refreshing.
As a result of the workshop, working groups were formed among faculty members to design lesson plans experientially by applying the principles learned in the workshop. These groups will be facilitated by the CARE team members, who will provide them with the necessary guidance and support. By adopting experiential design for the upcoming semester subjects end to end, the teaching-learning process at KPRIET will be transformed, providing a holistic learning experience for the students.
This workshop serves as a call to action for all faculty members at KPRIET to adopt innovative teaching methodologies that cater to the needs and preferences of the students. By incorporating technology, empathy, and psychology, faculty members can create truly immersive and engaging learning experiences that will benefit the students for years to come. The LXD Level 1 Workshop has provided attendees with the tools to create such learning experiences, and it is now up to all faculty members to utilize them and transform the teaching-learning process at KPRIET.
