Summary
On Wednesday, April 5th, Yi-Yuva Club of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology hosted a road safety ideathon. Over 146 students from 13 different colleges participated in this event, which aimed to promote creativity and innovation that can prevent road accidents and save life. Some problem statements were given by the organising team which created a major impact in the society which required innovative solutions. The ideathon began with a welcome speech from Mr. Anish Antony A, Chair of Yi-Yuva which for followed by a speech from the chief guest CA Thangavel M who also a member of Young Indians where he chairs the Road Safety Vertical, Coimbatore chapter. He shared his personal road safety issues and how it affected his surroundings.After sharing his speech, the presentations for the ideathon started which was judged by Mrs. Indhiradevi, Faculty Coordinator, Yi-Yuva.The ideas presented at the ideathon were diverse and innovative. All the teams choose the problem statements given by the organising team and came up with prototypes which they are working on. Some presented the videos of their prototypes. The ideas presented were applicable and innovative which made the it difficult to make a final decision.After careful consideration, the judge awarded first place to the team Onesnzero from Anna University Regional Campus, Coimbatore that developed solutions to pretty much all problem statements. The winning team was awarded with a cash prize of 1500 and shield. The runner team was from Tech Trio from KG College of Arts and Science. They were awarded with a cash prize of 1000 and a shield. Four teams were given special awards and were presented with shield for their wonderful ideas. Other ideas presented at the ideathon also had the potential to make a difference in the society. Overall, the ideathon was a success, with many participants expressing fabulous ideas. It was great to see so many creative and passionate students come together for this event.The ideathon event demonstrated the power of creativity in solving real-world problems. As more young innovators explore new ideas and push the boundaries of technology, we can expect to see more groundbreaking solutions to the challenges of our time.
