Outcome
Summary
On 1st April 2023, an OBE Sensitisation Workshop was held at the Legend Hall from 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM. The workshop was attended by members of CoE, BOS Coordinators & CFAC members. The primary objective of the workshop was to help the participants understand the revised Bloom's taxonomy and the three domains of learning and design instruction for achieving the course outcomes, ensuring good alignment between course outcomes, assessment, and instruction.
Before the workshop, participants were required to complete pre-work, which involved selecting a topic from their current course and mapping it to a course outcome. They then had to create a teaching-learning plan, execute the plan in the workshop, taking the other participants as learners, and present assessment questions mapped to the outcome.
The workshop was divided into several sessions, including "Teach to Learn," where participants presented their pre-work. The "Baseline Pre-quiz" session assessed the participants' current understanding, followed by "Why we are here - Demystifying the OBE Framework," which provided an overview of the workshop's purpose and goals.
The "Understanding the OBE Framework" session emphasized adopting the framework holistically and delved deeper into the Bloom's Taxonomy. The "Teaching Learning - the OBE Way" session focused on adopting a standard framework in the QA lens. The "Creating a pipeline of events for the evolution of new strategy" session aimed to help participants create a roadmap for implementing the new OBE framework. The "Meaningful Assessments in alignment with course outcome" session stressed the importance of creative assessments and ways to include creativity.
Finally, the "Working Groups - Way forward" session provided a platform for participants to discuss and collaborate on the implementation of the OBE framework.
Overall, the OBE Sensitisation Workshop aimed to equip the participants with the knowledge and skills required to design instruction for attaining course outcomes, ensuring good alignment between course outcomes, assessment, and instruction. It was an informative and collaborative workshop that enabled participants to explore and implement the OBE framework effectively.
