Hybrid electric vehicles are more efficient in their use of gasoline and typically can travel 550 to 700 miles. Although they do have a battery and electric motor, this battery is only fueled during a typical drive cycle and is not a primary source of propulsion. However, due to regenerative braking, this small battery is the primary reason for the hybrid's increased fuel efficiency and range - resource person said.
Also the resource person addressed the importance of batteries and their maintenance for electric vehicles. Because in EVs, the most important part is battery and their charging arrangements.
The types of EV technologies are
Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) BEVs are also known as All-Electric Vehicles (AEV).
Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV): HEVs are also known as series hybrid or parallel hybrid.
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle(FCEV)
Finally the webinar end up with the information about charging infrastructure of electric vehicles. Charging can be made through grid as well as renewables. During day time charging can be made by renewables ( through solar ) and night time through grid. There are enough advantages will be there by charging through solar.
