The Department of Civil Engineering at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology organized a CADD contest on February 16, 2023. The main objective of the contest was to assess the students' ability to design and draw building plans in accordance with the given requirements, as well as to test their creativity level in developing basic and advanced amenities in the construction sector. The contest was open to participants from various colleges in Tamil Nadu, including KCT, Kongu Engineering, Government College of Technology, PSG College, and KSR College, who competed online.
During the contest, the participants were asked to create a two-dimensional layout plan based on the given statement. They were also required to draw sections, elevation drawings, and approval plan drawings. Additionally, the participants were instructed to draw a layout plan in accordance with norms and guidelines, with a focus on VAASTU principles. Overall, the contest provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills in building design and construction, as well as their knowledge of VAASTU principles. The participants were challenged to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to meet the given requirements. By participating in the contest, the students had the opportunity to showcase their talents and potentially gain recognition in the field of civil engineering.
