Technology is ambiguously seen both as a friend and a foe. Innovation drives prosperity, and frontier technologies (e.g. AI, robotics, biotechnology, and nanotechnology) could be transformative in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). But rapid advances can have serious downsides if they outpace the ability of societies to adapt.Department of Physics successfully organised a seminar on INNOVATIVE APPROACHES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR BUDDING ENGINEERS. The session was formally initiated by welcome address followed by special address by resource person Dr.R.Ranjith Kumar, Chief Scientific Officer, Viyen Biotech LLP, Coimbatore.The main aim of the program was to help the students develop entrepreneurial mindset; learn enterprise initiation and development skills. Expert has started his session by explaining importance of Entrepreneurship as a career. After students started realizing the value of business over service they gave some ideas for identification of business opportunities. He also explained to students what skills are required to be an entrepreneur and how can they develop those skills. Moreover he gave focus on how students can do business and they need to improve for the same. Overall session was motivating for the students those are interested for taking a business opportunity The main objective of this seminar is to create awareness among students of Engineering and Science courses about various facts of entrepreneurship as an alternative career option. The idea of organizing this workshop is to inculcate the fundamentals, key concepts of Entrepreneurship in the Science and Technology among students. The session was concluded by humble vote of thanks.
Approximately about 320 students from different branches of engineering successfully participated in the seminar. The seminar was successfully coordinated by the members of Physics department, under the leadership and direction of Dr. S. Ananth towards conducting the event successfully.
