Summary
KPRIET Sustainability Committee with Rotract club of KPRIET and RISE INFINITY FOUNDATION (RIF) organizing an awareness program on E - Waste Management and Carbon Net Zero in the RISE WORLD SUMMIT 2023 on 02.02.2023 in KPRIET campus. RISE WORLD SUMMIT 2023 is an initiative to spread the UN SDG to all through RISE Wold Summit. RISE 2023, in which over 6500+ participant, from more than 75 countries, 975 cities and 660000+ hours of event based on the theme "Carbon Neutral". The main objective of the event is to spread awareness on the E - Waste, type of e - waste, source of E - Waste and the process to recuse and recycle the E - Waste. Volunteers of Rotract club collected the E - Waste from various laboratories in the campus and students also deposited e - waste to the volunteers. Students also explained the various sources of green house gases and also the importance of reducing the carbon foot for better tomorrow. Mr. Aparna, CEO, RIF graced the occasion by giving input on the cause and effect of the E - Waste and the importance of E - Waste management, and who the E - Waste can be processed and reused in the future. She also stressed on the importance of carbon net zero and carbon neutral to the students. She also emphasized on the India's Net Zero target. KPRIET has also taken a step and decided to make the KPR Institution a carbon neutral campus by 2030.
