The IEEE KPRIET Vehicular Technology Society organized a webinar titled 'Emergence of Sustainable Mobility' on 13th August 2024, held at Thanam Hall from 09:15 am to 10:45 am. The session was led by Dr. B. Ashok, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Automotive Engineering at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore.
Dr. Ashok began the session by highlighting the dominance of internal combustion (IC) engines in the automotive sector and the challenges posed by evolving emissions norms. He elaborated on the increasing necessity for alternative energy sources, particularly electric and hybrid vehicles, to meet the stringent environmental regulations.
The webinar delved into the technological advancements in electric and hybrid vehicles, exploring their impact on reducing emissions and promoting sustainability.
