Summary

Workshop on “Curriculum Design using OBE Framework” was organised by IQAC on 20.01.2024, for the KPRIET faculty members. The program was held at Veena Hall, KPRIET. The resource person was Dr. Kanmani Buddhi, Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, BMS College of Engineering,  Bangaluru.

Dr. Kanmani Buddhi began the session with a small discussion on the current teaching learning process and its drawbacks. Bloom’s taxonomy and its verbs were also discussed since action verbs describe observable and measurable behaviors . Participants were made to understand the importance of action verbs in framing the Cos and Question Paper(QP). The verbs to be included and those to be not mentioned are also discussed. It helped participants to frame the COs and QP of their respective courses. Aligning assessments closely with these outcomes ensures a direct measure of students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes. At the end, educators can effectively frame course outcomes in the Outcomes-Based Education framework, ensuring that they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound, and aligned with the goals of the course and the broader educational context. A quiz was conducted based on the contents discussed and feedback was taken at the end of the session.
