Summary

Department of Chemistry organized an Awareness program on Building resistance against microbes for I year students on 14.10.23. It was organised in association with PSGRKrishnammal college for women, Coimbatore as a part of Scientific social responsibility (SSR) funded by DST-FIST event. Dr.Shymala & Dr.Angulakshmi ,Assistant Professor,Department of Chemistry ,PSGRKrishnammal college for women along with 8 student volunteers addressed the gathering. 900 students from 1st year participated in the awareness session.

Raising awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through educational programs and campaigns can have several positive outcomes. These initiatives are essential in informing the public, healthcare professionals, and policymakers about the challenges posed by AMR. The potential outcomes of antimicrobial resistance awareness programs:
