The event is organized by the Department of Civil Engineering on 13th October, 2023. The primary aim of the Kallikrates event is to provide students with a well-rounded and enriching experience, encompassing various objectives such as knowledge sharing, academic growth, and fostering innovation.

Dr. G. Anusha, Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at KPRIET, addressed the gathering and she highlighted the symposium's significance as a platform for students to present their research findings and encouraged them to generate novel concepts and solutions for intricate challenges. Dr. Anusha underlined that the responsibilities of civil engineers go beyond structural and systemic design, as they bear the crucial duty of safeguarding the welfare and safety of the community.

Dr. M. Ramasamy, the Principal of KPRIET, delivered a keynote address to the diverse gathering of civil engineering students from different colleges. He underscored the enduring significance of civil engineering in shaping our contemporary world and underscored its crucial role in the daily lives of every person. Dr. Ramasamy also emphasized the importance of advancing sustainable construction methods and urged the students to engage in innovative research endeavours within the domain of sustainable development.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. S. Hariharasudhan, who holds the position of Director at COMTEN Consulting Engineers Private Ltd. He delivered an insightful discourse on the realm of Civil Engineering. During his address, he delved into the challenges confronting the field of Civil Engineering and emphasized the importance of considering sustainable and resilient infrastructure options that can not only meet the test of time but also adapt to the evolving environment.
The event encompasses a diverse range of activities, featuring both technical and non-technical categories. The technical segment includes events such as, Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, Technical Quiz, CAD Contest, Code cracking and Project Presentation and Miniature Contest. Total of 346 students from 30 colleges from tamilnadu participated in the event.
