The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, KPRIET, successfully organized a guest lecture titled "SQL vs NoSQL: Choosing the Right Database for Modern Applications" on 27th February 2025 at Veena Hall. The session was delivered by Mr. Rajasimhan S, Lead Consultant Developer at Thoughtworks Technologies (India) Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore.
The objective of this session was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, their differences, and how to choose the right database for various modern applications. The speaker elaborated on data storage models, scalability, performance trade-offs, and real-world use cases of both database types.
A significant highlight of the session was the hands-on demonstration, where participants explored practical applications of SQL and NoSQL databases, gaining valuable experience in data management strategies.
